The Iron Gate Motor Condos 2nd Annual International Auto Show was held at Iron Gate Motor Condos in Naperville showcasing fine automobiles from around the world, parked in and around the beautiful condominium community. Over 30 awards were given out as well as raffle prizes throughout the day. Car owners and spectators enjoyed a sneak peek of the spectacular garages at Iron Gate, Sharko’s Barbecue, and some outstanding automotive examples that were on display. All were warmly embraced by the community of Iron Gate owners.

All proceeds from the show benefited the Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation. Iron Gate Motor Condos continued the popular “Cal’s Riders” program again this year, to grant wishes to children fighting pediatric cancer by offering special rides to special kids in special cars. The children were welcomed to Iron Gate Motor Condos with their very own red carpet (courtesy of Great Western Flooring), and a lineup of exotic cars to choose from. On hand were a baby blue Bentley convertible, 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, a bright red Camaro SS/RS, an Audi R8 V-10, Mercedes E63 AMG Alpha 9 (900HP), Mitsubishi EVO X AMS STX500 (500HP), an orange 2014 Viper TA (Special Edition #4 of 93 built), a tricked out Bears Jeep, a 2015 Challenger Hellcat ( limited production with 707 HP), a Ford GT, a Rolls Phantom, a Triumph TR3, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a 458 Ferrari and more!

Of special note was the $1.4 million dollar 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, whose owner preferred to give rides to the kids instead of registering in the show….thankfully, he was able to do both and was awarded Best in Show. The limited edition Porsche is number 402 of only 918 cars built by Porsche. Although we didn’t drive this fast in Naperville, the top speed is estimated at plus 210 mph, with performance of 0 to 62 mph in 2.2 seconds.

One parent said “It was so exciting for me to see the joy on my daughter’s face and all her dear friends… a moment of forgetting she is fighting cancer and just enjoying life and being a teen! At this age, all they want to do is own a car and hang out with friends. So thank you for letting her experience this moment!”

Many of the drivers also offered photo opportunities for the children throughout the day. Mr. David Kelsch graciously provided a private, air conditioned space for the children and their families. Lunch was provided by Iron Gate Motor Condos.

As one of the drivers and trophy winners said, “I cannot tell you how much fun I had today at the Car Show! I got to show my cars, meet some great folks, and ride with some great kids! The best of all worlds, and it just makes it that much better when we all come together in our hobby for such a good cause”.

About Cal’s Angels: Cal’s Angels was founded in April of 2007 by Tom and Stacey Sutter in memory of their oldest child, Cal Sutter, a 12-year old who lost his 14 1⁄2 month battle with Leukemia in August of 2006. The battle with pediatric cancer is a horrible nightmare no child or family should ever have to experience. The courage all of these children display throughout their battles inspired Tom and Stacey to start Cal’s Angels – a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) registered non-profit pediatric cancer foundation. Cal’s Angels main mission and purpose – granting wishes and providing financial assistance to kids fighting cancer and their families – continues Cal’s legacy of always caring about others above anything else.

Cal’s Angels is partnered with Lurie Children’s Hospital and has sponsored the hematology and oncology floors, hosting monthly hospital parties offering toys, pizza, crafts and also supplies the toys and electronics for the playrooms. For more information go to www.calsangels.org.
